Biography

From an early age, Amelia has had the privilege of training and studying various dance genres throughout Canada and the United States. Her first “real job” was when she was cast in the live theatre production of The King and I at the age of 11. Other theatre and live show ensemble credits include The Women, Alice in Wonderland, The Nutcracker, Beauty and The Beast, and Vancouver PNE’s City Rhythm.

Amelia spent several years as a member of the professional dance crew, Details, where she opened for such artists as the Jabbawockeez, George Nozuka, and Politic Live. Being a part of Details also gave Amelia various live performance opportunities for organizations such as The NBA (Hoop It Up Tours), Canadian Tire, Canada’s Driven Auto Expo, and the 2008 Alberta Summer Games Half Time Show.

Under the mentorship of Shelley Tookey, Amelia discovered her passion for teaching and choreography. Over the years, she has had the privilege of working with various studios across western Canada to develop award-winning work, as well as sit on the faculty for different workshops and summer intensive programs.

Amelia’s choreography has most recently been featured in the upcoming short film, Queendom, scheduled to release in 2023. Other choreographic works include: Mackenzie Dayle’s debut concert, The Wait is Over, HMP Productions Western Canadian Tour, Mission Central
Vancouver, and ATESTO Vancouver.

Currently residing in Vancouver, BC, Amelia is the Director and Producer for ATESTO Vancouver (atestovan.com) - a multifaceted, live music and creative arts show that features storytellers from all over western Canada. She also sits on the faculty for The Landing Dance
Centre, where her heart for discipline and teamwork pushes her dancers to strive for excellence both within and outside the studio. Amelia is proud to be a part of the journey for young dancers, as her students have gone on to pursue successful theatre, dance company and film careers throughout Canada and the United States.
